The most beautiful way to drink coffee

In Latte Macchiato the milk predominates over the espresso, as traditionally it was a drink served to children in Italy. It consists of three layers: the bottom one of hot milk, the middle one of espresso coffee and the top one of milk froth.


Ingredients

  • 45 ml of espresso coffee
  • 170 ml of milk

Preparation

The secret of this drink is its presentation. Pour the hot milk, and then add the milk froth and finally the espresso coffee. The point to which you’ve added the coffee is known as the Macchia. Due to the different densities of the ingredients, the coffee will not mix with the hot milk and the milk froth will float on top of the espresso. It’s usually served in a glass (capacity of about 220 ml).
